During their first 4 semesters, students must complete a minimum of 14 term courses at the graduate level. These courses must include the following 8-course core.

Students are expected to exhibit some breadth in their knowledge of the languages of the world. LING 641 Field Methods fulfills this requirement; alternatively, with the permission of the DGS, the student may take an appropriate language structure class, or one or more classes at the L3 level or equivalent.
